Résidence Eau&Gaz: La collection.

ABOUT A WORKER was invited by Eau & Gaz residency, to host a workshop with winemakers in Bolzano, South Tyrol, Italy. For the occasion, ABOUT A WORKER decided to reuse wine lees ( winemaking leftovers ), in order to create giant textile patchwork and a clothing collection.

step 1 : dying wine lees

After experimenting with wine dyes, ABOUT A WORKER hosted a dying initiation for 50 winemakers. In a short time, each of them got to dye fabrics to create a big patchwork. Many colors and unique patterns appeared from their creation.

step 2 : the sewing workshop

Once the fabric had dried, ABOUT A WORKER hosted a sewing workshop for the winemakers. The goal was to help them create practical accessories for their everyday life, such as aprons, bucket hats and wine bags.
